Hog Roast &
Backyard Bash

Thursday, May 23rd

Summer Kickoff Hog Roast & Backyard Bash. Summer starts early at the Wallins’ place, and you’re invited to kick it off with a whole-hog feast, live music, and the best mash-up of friends-and-family (“framily”) you can gather!

At the Wallin Homestead • 10601 104th Street, Coal Valley
Thursday, May 23 | 6p till whenever the last bite’s gone and the band plays its final song.

What to Expect

  • Mouth-watering roast hog—slow-cooked all day, carved up at 6p sharp.
  • Live band—Natalie and the Hayrack Boys are back for their spring tour stop with toe-tappin’ tunes that run as long as the crowd’s still interested (or until they have no more music to play).
  • Wide-open country yard—plenty of room for lawn chairs, yard games, kids, and conversation under the stars.

Why We’re Excited

Sometimes inviting someone to Sunday service feels big. A backyard hog roast? Way easier! This is a
relaxed, no-pressure chance for your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to meet your Bethany framily, share a plate, and see what genuine community looks (and tastes!) like.

Bring & Share

  • A friend—or five. Think of that co-worker who’s curious about church life, or the neighbor who keeps saying “we should hang out.” After you invite people and you have a number you are expecting, Jason would appreciate a text 309-909-3224 so that we can make sure there is enough food for everyone.
  • Lawn chair or picnic blanket for a comfortable view of the band.
  • Favorite chips or dessert (optional but always appreciated). We’ll handle the main course, sides, and drinks.

Need-to-Knows

  • Parking: The first 30 cars can park right in front of the Wallin house. After that, please use the shoulders along County Road KK and 104th Street—watch for volunteers running a friendly “shuttle” to ferry you down to the cookout.
  • Come hungry: First carve happens at 6p, but we’ll keep slicing until the pig is picked clean.
  • Rain plan? Pray for great weather, but we will make adjustments to make sure that we have room somewhere dry on the property.

Mark your calendar, pray for good weather, and start inviting. Let’s pack the Wallin homestead with laughter, great food, and the kind of welcome that makes the gospel feel right at home.

Questions? Reach out to the church office, or shoot Jason a text (309-909-3224). See you (and your crew) on May 23!
